This is a must see must shop must walk around kinda mall; unique to Paris, bus loads of tourists are dropped off on a daily basis to here. Why would I come here to shop when there are plenty of other stores around? As a foreigner you are entitled to tax refund. If you're a fan of French goods, you need to purchase at least 175 euro to obtain the forms to get your refund. Why spend 175 at one store in order to qualify, when you can add your receipts up from multiple retailers in one mall to qualify? You're going to get the best results this way. Smaller chance of buyers remorse since you're not desperately adding on items in one particular brand just to total 175.
I got my stuffs at caudalie and long champ, both of my favorite brands. You don't need to worry if you're going for Gucci etc, you're gonna hit your goal :D -

Amazing 5 story shopping mall. On the 5th floor there is a cafe with excellent views of the Eiffel Tower. Go around sunset to see it light up!
Great coffee and snacks!
Also, they have a rooftop restaurant open 10-1 am. -

Galeries Lafayette is so much more than a department store - it's a bonafide Parisian luxury style experience!
We visited the main store at the Hausmann location as my husband wanted me to experience it, and I was so happy we did! The selection is incredible, and the service was top notch. I loved having the open atrium and the beautiful, gorgeous stained glass ceiling/copula - along with the fantastic architectural details - just breathtaking.
We had cappuccinos at the Starbucks on one level, and I noted that on almost every level there is a beverage outlet of some sort - even noticed a bar serving cocktails overlooking the atrium! The staff were all very attentive, very well dressed, and very knowledgeable. You can see that the company provides extensive training.
We visited the rooftop for the priceless view. Being able to overlook the Paris Opera (didn't spot the Phantom, but I looked!!), and seeing the Eiffel Tower in the distance was a truly awesome opportunity. We had already lunched and so did not opt for dining there, but perhaps another time??
We also were happy to buy - when in Paris do as the Parisians:-) - very nice quality berets as gifts and the prices were reasonable. They came in an array of colors, and we brought home about a half-dozen. We've gifted two, and I'm seriously considering keeping the remaining four. They are super cute.
All in all, I would highly suggest visiting the store. It's so worthwhile! -

This was a fantastic shopping experience, and the place is gorgeous in architecture and decoration for the holiday season - I enjoyed this far more than Le Bon Marche. Lotions, potions, dresses, signature gifts, haute couture, gourmet food products, outerwear, underwear, you name it! They had some crazy outfits from Valentino, Ballenciaga, nothing I could ever want to afford, but lovely to look at nonetheless. Their perfume counters do not wreak of like sales spray-a-holics here stateside. I loved the way the place looks like an opera house from inside. And Angelina.... (which I reviewed separately) was exquisite).

Very upscale department store in Paris. We discovered this place while shopping for a present for a relative back in the USA. Enjoyed a lunch on the ground floor of the men's building. On the 1st floor they have a hamburger restaurant. There is a unisex bathroom located between the ground and 1st floor close to the hamburger restaurant. They have free Wi-Fi here which is great. It is also very close to a metro stop.
